Summary

fiogf49gjkf0d
Globalization has given administrative law a new platform beyond the national state, where administrative issues are investigated and regulated at the international arena, with the cooperation of states, governmental and non-governmental organizations and private parties. The area of international biobanking can be seen as an example of this. The research aims at investigating the following question: What elements are necessary in designing a regulatory regime in the area of international biobanking, promoting both efficiency and legitimacy by striking a balance between the interests of advancing research and the interest of safeguarding the rights of individuals concerned? The research is performed in cooperation with Bio Medical Center, Uppsala University, within the BBMRI.se project (Biobanking and Molecular Resource Infratructure of Sweden).
