The project analyses the impact of religion concerning Swedish law on abortion from a legal historical perspective. It focuses on the period 1975-2005, and the changing Swedish model. The central question is: What impact did religion have on the debate about abortion around 1975, when Sweden was a comparatively homogenous society, compared with the role it plays in the multicultural society of the early 21st century? The study combines legal history, jurisprudence, sociology, ethics and comparison.
Right to health, religion, abortion, life and death, ethics, gender, the Swedish exception?
